I was raised in a small town in rural Ontario, Canada. Small town, meaning: we had one stop sign and a population of around 800 people. My parents immigrated to Canada from England when I was just three years old. Growing up, my parents owned and operated a small town independent pharmacy in my hometown.

From a very young age, I learned the importance of providing genuine service to the community. I fondly remember riding my bicycle around town delivering medicine to senior citizens who were unable to leave their homes. These life experiences ultimately gave me the drive to go to Medical School and study to become a vitreoretinal specialist.

In order to specialize in the diagnosis, evaluation, and medical or surgical treatment of diseases affecting the vitreous gel, macula, or peripheral retina in the back of the eye; I completed:

• 4 years of my Undergraduate at the University of Windsor, Canada
• 4 years of Medical School at Chicago Medical School
• 1 year of Internship at Crittenton Hospital
• 3 years of Ophthalmology Residency at Kresge Eye Institute/Detroit Medical Center
• 2 years of Vitreoretinal Surgical Fellowship at Dean McGee Eye Institute/University of Oklahoma

After all was said and done, I became Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and capable of treating the microscopic complexities of medical and surgical retinal disease. Currently, I perform the latest surgical techniques for Retinal Detachment repair, Macular Puckers, Macular Holes, Diabetic Tractional Retinal Detachments, and a variety of other complex Vitreoretinal disorders. Clinically, I specialize in the treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Vein Occlusions, and Age-Related Macular Degeneration.

As President of the American Retina Forum, I like to stay involved within the Vitreoretinal community both locally and nationwide. My goal is to provide personalized and compassionate care for all of my patients.

When not working, I enjoy snowboarding, ice hockey, and playing with my puppy, Lola!
